A Thanksgiving Message for Women Building Something Meaningful

Thanksgiving has a way of slowing us down, doesn’t it? Not always physically — the kitchen is still busy, the family is still loud, and the to-do list still has opinions — but mentally. There’s something about this week that nudges us to pause, look around, and acknowledge what’s unfolding in our lives.

And if you’re a woman building a business while also carrying a full, beautiful, occasionally overwhelming life… that pause is well-earned.

Today, I wanted to create a space for that. Just you and me, no strategies, no systems, no pressure to “optimize” anything. Simply a moment of gratitude — for the courage it takes to show up, the twists that shape us, and the communities that hold us together.

The Courage to Build Something Meaningful

Being an entrepreneur is brave work. Being a woman entrepreneur, especially one juggling aging parents, busy kids, grandbabies, careers, caregiving, and the emotional labor that sits on our shoulders by default… that’s next-level courage.

It takes something special to step outside the busyness of daily life and say,
I want to make an impact.
I want to build something that matters.
I want a life that feels more like me.

If you’ve chosen that path — even in small, imperfect steps — that’s worth celebrating.

The Lessons That Stayed With Me

I spent years building a business inside someone else’s company. I didn’t always get to steer the ship, but I did get to shape the moments. Those tiny, meaningful, heart-centered moments with my team were the real magic.

Helping a woman set a goal she wasn’t sure she could reach. Watching her stretch, try, grow. Celebrating the late-night wins and encouraging her through the setbacks. Those memories taught me who I was meant to be: a coach who helps women see their own capability long before they see it in the mirror.

And the friendships… goodness, the friendships. Some of my closest girlfriends today started as women on my team or leaders I collaborated with. The ones who say, “Adjust your crown.” The ones who will cry with you and then make you laugh right after. If entrepreneurship had given me nothing else, the friendships alone would have been worth the entire journey.

Following the Fun (and Letting It Lead Somewhere Beautiful)

A lot of the best things in my life started with a simple What if?

Wine Camp was one of those moments — a fun idea between Robin and me that has turned into a full-blown, joy-drenched tradition... next year in the Finger Lakes. This year, over half of the spots filled before we even really announced anything publicly. Women aren’t just signing up for a trip; they’re craving community, connection, playfulness, and a little adventure. We all are.

Then there’s the Sipper Club — born from a cocktail night and now evolving into a space where women bring their creativity, their stories, and their hearts. More connection, more curated recipes, more experiences, more girlfriend energy. It just feels right.

Why I’m Grateful for Serving Superstars

Serving Superstars has changed me in ways I didn’t expect. So many women join after years of putting one foot in front of the other, doing everything for everyone else, and slowly losing the spark they once felt so naturally.

Life gets lifey. Confidence gets quiet. Dreams get nudged to the back burner.

This program brings that spark back. It brings joy back. It brings momentum back.

And the women joining right now get private coaching with me leading into the February cohort, so they’re not waiting until January to feel supported — they’re building clarity and confidence today. Watching that transformation is one of the greatest honors of my work.

What I’m Most Grateful for This Thanksgiving

As I look at where I’ve been and where we’re going together, here’s what’s on my heart:

I’m grateful for the women who trust me.
I’m grateful for the twists that built my resilience.
I’m grateful for the friendships that became chosen family.
I’m grateful for the fun ideas that grew into traditions.
I’m grateful for every woman who has whispered, “I think I can do this… I just need a little help.”

And I’m grateful for you — for your courage, your heart, your willingness to dream even when those dreams feel quiet.

Because when women show up as who they really are, everybody wins. And when women support each other, it creates the kind of magic the world could use a lot more of.

Wherever Thanksgiving finds you — in a busy kitchen, in a quiet car, on a walk, or wrapped in a soft blanket — I hope you take a moment to feel proud of yourself. You’re building something meaningful. You’re making an impact, even on days it doesn’t feel like it.

And if you’re craving more clarity, joy, momentum, or direction heading into 2026, Serving Superstars might be exactly the fresh start you’ve been looking for. The February cohort is open, and the women who join now get private coaching before the program begins. (You can book a call with me here: https://www.pennyforyourshots.com/call)

But today? Just soak in the gratitude. Enjoy your people. And know that I’m cheering for you — always.

Happy Thanksgiving, friend!
Cheers~
