You Don’t Have to Carry It All Alone | Solo Episode

There’s a certain kind of exhaustion that doesn’t come from doing one hard thing.

It comes from the self-imposed stress of trying to be the person you believe everyone counts on.

The planner. The helper. The dependable one. The woman who remembers the details, handles the logistics, checks on everyone else, keeps things moving, and somehow still feels guilty when she slows down for five minutes.

A lot of women know this feeling intimately.

And lately? I’ve been feeling it too.

This week’s podcast episode was a little different because, after months of amazing guest conversations, I officially caught up with my bank of recorded episodes. Suddenly, it was just me sitting in front of the microphone with my thoughts, a foggy brain, and a whole lot of vulnerability.

What surprised me most wasn’t that I felt overwhelmed. It was how quickly my brain tried to convince me that overwhelm meant I was doing something wrong. That I wasn't "enough."

Maybe you know that feeling too.

You can love your life, your business, your family, and the things you’re building… and still feel tired.

You can feel grateful and overwhelmed at the same time.

You can feel excited about new opportunities while simultaneously wanting to hide under a blanket and binge-watch cooking shows instead of sending the email, posting the thing, or making the decision.

Two things can absolutely be true at once.

That realization matters because so many women have quietly absorbed the belief that capable women should be able to do everything without help.

Somewhere along the way, many of us learned:
Don’t ask for too much.
Don’t need too much.
Don’t burden anyone.
Just figure it out.

And while being capable is a beautiful thing, being capable does not mean you were meant to carry every single responsibility alone.

I see this all the time with women entrepreneurs. They are trying to manage the business, learn the technology, support their clients, create content, nurture relationships, handle family responsibilities, and keep everything running smoothly while also trying to stay calm, healthy, inspired, and emotionally available for everyone around them.

Ermigherd. Of course we get overwhelmed!

But one of the biggest mindset shifts we can make is learning not to confuse overwhelm with failure.

A foggy season does not automatically mean you are off track. Sometimes it simply means you need a smaller next step instead of a massive overhaul.

Sometimes progress looks like:

  • Sending the email
  • Asking for help
  • Recording the messy podcast episode
  • Taking a walk
  • Drinking water
  • Closing the seventeen browser tabs
  • Letting yourself rest without disappearing

That last part matters.

Because there’s a difference between rest and retreating from yourself.

I’ve also been thinking a lot lately about how women are subtly encouraged to become smaller as they age. Quieter. More practical. Less visible.

I don’t buy it. Not even a little.

Through this podcast, through coaching, through Sipper Club, Wine Camp, and conversations with incredible women, I keep seeing proof that midlife is not the end of becoming. It’s often the beginning of finally becoming honest about what we truly want.

Women are rediscovering joy.
Trying new things.
Building businesses with purpose.
Creating deeper friendships.
Traveling.
Speaking up.
Learning.
Growing.
Taking up space again.

And yes, sometimes doing it scared. (Actually... Most of the time, doing it scared.)

Because confidence rarely arrives before action.

More often, confidence is built by taking one imperfect step after another until you realize:
“Oh. I can do hard things.”

That’s one reason community matters so much to me.

One of the biggest reminders I had recently was realizing I’m not actually doing all of this alone. There are women around me supporting me, encouraging me, joining Sipper Club, inviting friends, helping spread the word about Wine Camp, and cheering for the vision before it’s fully finished.

That is what meaningful community looks like.

And maybe that’s the reminder you need too.

You do not have to prove your worth by exhausting yourself. You do not have to earn rest by reaching a breaking point. You do not have to wait until everything feels perfectly clear before taking the next step.

Action brings clarity. Connection creates momentum. And women were never meant to disappear into everyone else’s needs.

You still have wisdom to share.
You still have experiences to create.
You still have joy to rediscover.
You still have room to grow.

And you absolutely do not have to carry it all alone.

Cheering you on. Always. 😘
